URBAN developer Skyworld Development Group’s third affordable homes project SkyAwani 3 is expected to be completed in April 2022.

Currently, the three-block affordable housing in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, is 95% completed.

Group founder and group managing director Datuk Ng Thien Phing said house buyers could expect to have their keys within the next few months.

“Residensi SkyAwani 3 is developed under the Residensi Wilayah Keluarga Malaysia programme that benefits low- and medium-income first-time house buyers.

“We are committed to delivering quality housing projects that adhere to Qlassic standards set by the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB),” Ng said during his opening speech at the SkyAwani 3 project’s topping-off ceremony.

SkyAwani 3 Residences comprises 1,905 units, and is spread out over three towers interconnected by a skybridge where residents can enjoy a 360° panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline.

Sold at RM300,000, each unit is 800sq ft, consisting of three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The complex also has condominium facilities such as gyms, a swimming pool, basketball court, jogging track and multipurpose hall.

Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said as of November this year, 62,836 affordable homes from 102 projects had been approved by the ministry.

“The bulk of them – 95 projects – are in Kuala Lumpur while there are three in Putrajaya and four in Labuan.

“The target for the Residensi Wilayah Keluarga Malaysia programme is to complete 80,000 affordable homes by 2028, whereby 8,000 units are expected to be ready each year.

“We are confident that with the joint efforts of the ministry, agencies and private developers, we can achieve this target,” he said during his opening speech.

Among those present were Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, secretary-general Datuk Seri Rosida Jaafar and deputy secretary-general (planning and development) Datuk Che Roslan.

Also at the event were Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Mahadi Che Ngah, Perbadanan PR1MA Corporation chairman Datuk Dr Fathul Bari Mat Jahya, Skyworld CEO Koong Wai Seng, deputy CEO Lee Chee Seng and executive director Zafidi Mohamad.
